Mr. Noah Mackie
Initially studying to obtain an undergraduate and master’s degree in sports science, it was during my master’s degrees where injury rehabilitation peaked my interested when I had to undergo my own rehabilitation for a torn ACL and resulted in me deciding to obtain a physiotherapy degree from Kings College London as soon as my master’s degree was finished. During my time at Kings College London, I spent time on an old person ward at St Thomas’ Hospital, in the community in Southwark, a neurology ward at St George’s, a cystic fibrosis ward at Denmark Hill Hospital and finally a MSK service at The Nelson Medical Centre.
Following my studies, I decided to specialise immediately and worked for Synergy Physiotherapy in Woking where I was exposed to lots of sports injuries and non-sports related injuries. After my time at Synergy Physiotherapy, I was given an opportunity to return to the Nelson Medical Centre as a Senior Physiotherapist where I was exposed to more complex injuries in addition to chronic conditions where pain education is a pivotal part to the treatment.
It’s my firm belief that good rehabilitation consists of 3 phases. Symptom management where we try to reduce your symptoms, addressing the underlying issues before entering the prevention of recurrence phase. I will guide you through all the phases using evidence based practice.
In my spare time I enjoy playing sports, in particular Rugby, Padel tennis and Football. When I am not playing sports, I enjoy taking my dog Nelly for walks.
